Alexander Ferrari Miller

Bartending, hospitality, high-volume service, full bar setup, and direct guest interaction in major Los Angeles performing-arts venues.

Alexander Ferrari Miller bartending

My bartending experience includes working for Patina Restaurant Group at the Los Angeles Music Center, serving guests attending performances at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Ahmanson Theatre, and Walt Disney Concert Hall.

The work combined traditional bartending with the unusual demands of performing-arts venues. A bar could go from quiet to an intense rush when an audience entered the lobby at intermission, making preparation, organization, speed, accuracy, and guest communication especially important.

I was responsible for setting up a complete bar from scratch before service, preparing and serving drinks during high-volume periods, maintaining the workspace throughout service, and completely breaking down the bar afterward.

  • Full Bar SetupBuilt and stocked the working bar before service.
  • High-Volume ServiceHandled concentrated intermission rushes with large numbers of guests arriving at once.
  • Classic CocktailsPrepared drinks including martinis, Manhattans, White Russians, and other standard mixed drinks.
  • Guest ServiceWorked directly with theater and concert patrons in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Behind the Bar

Bartending at major performance venues required preparation before the audience arrived and fast, concentrated service when the house emptied into the lobby during intermission.

Patina Restaurant Group

Los Angeles Music Center — 2018–2019

I began working for Patina Restaurant Group on April 24, 2018. My bartending assignments supported performances and events at several of Los Angeles's best-known performing-arts venues.

Unlike a conventional neighborhood bar, much of the demand was synchronized with the performance schedule. Intermission could produce an immediate surge of customers who all needed to order, receive their drinks, and return to their seats within a short period.

That environment rewarded careful advance setup, an orderly workstation, familiarity with standard cocktails, efficient communication, and the ability to remain composed while moving quickly.
