Kilroy sightings

Air Force Missiles

Kilroy did not limit himself to walls and ships. National Park Service history records the wartime graffiti painted on the shells of Air Force missiles.

A Mark on the Machinery of War

The National Park Service describes Kilroy as appearing on ship holds, bathrooms, bridges, and the shells of Air Force missiles. The variety of surfaces helps explain the joke: wherever American forces and their equipment went, Kilroy seemed to have arrived first.

Documented · National Park ServiceThe World War II Memorial’s Kilroy history specifically includes Air Force missile shells among the places where the graffiti appeared.
